The news of two powerful earthquakes that struck Venezuela, killing at least 32 people and injuring more than 700, has saddened the world (“Venezuela earthquakes kill 32, injure more than 700,” June25, Gulf Today website).
According to the report, two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela on Wednesday, killing at least 32 people and injuring 700 more after dozens of buildings collapsed into piles of shattered concrete and steel in and around the capital Caracas.
Earthquakes, tsunamis, and disastrous rains are natural disasters. It is impossible for people and governments around the world to take precautionary measures to stop them.
I am sure the Venezuelan government will leave no stone unturned in rescuing the dozens of people who are still trapped in collapsed buildings.
It is the responsibility of the government to provide immediate relief through financial support to the families of those who lost their lives in this unfortunate incident and to make sure that the injured people receive complete treatment in hospitals.
This time shall pass. I know it is a difficult time for the people of Venezuela and its government. The world should help the Venezuelan government cope with the disastrous situation in the country.
