Sheikh Sultan says Dhs750 million allocated to develop Sharjah roads

His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, told “Direct Line” programme aired on Sharjah Radio: “The Iconic Taawun roundabout was removed due to necessary developmental projects aimed at achieving traffic flow in the area extending from Al Taawun Street to Al Nahda Bridge in Dubai, after engineers found that the foundations of Al Taawun roundabout extended underground and would affect the tunnel which will be constructed to facilitate vehicle passage.”

Sheikh Sultan added: “The project is part of a group of projects, costing Dhs750 million, aimed at facilitating traffic between Sharjah and Dubai, and will make visitors’ journey to “Expo Sharjah” non-stop. We are opening these internal areas to our neighbours, because “Sharjah is a welcoming city.”
