As part of the “Our Flexible Summer” initiative, aimed at developing the work environment and promoting work-life balance, and in line with the goals and initiatives of the Year of Families, the Human Resources Department of the Ajman Government (HRD) issued a circular to all government entities in the Emirate regarding the reduction of official working hours during the summer period.
The circular stated that official working hours in government entities will be reduced to 7 hours daily, from June 29 until August 28.
Official working hours from Monday to Thursday will be from 7:30am to 2:30pm, while working hours on Friday will extend from 7:30am to 12:00pm.
According to the circular, government entities may implement a flexible working hours system, provided the employee’s working hours under this system are not less than the specified official working hours.
The circular also authorised government entities operating on a shift system to determine the start and end times of working hours, in a manner which suits the nature of their work and needs, and ensures the continuity of service delivery efficiently and effectively.
