Awqaf Dubai supports schools project with Dhs1 million

The Endowments and Minors’ Trust Foundation in Dubai (Awqaf Dubai) has contributed Dhs1 million to the “Dubai Schools” project as part of a community partnership.

The initiative aims to support the project by expanding access to quality education and providing students with an advanced learning environment that lays the foundation for future generations.

This contribution reflects Dubai Awqaf’s commitment to leveraging endowment funds for impactful educational projects, strengthening its role in fostering development and positioning Dubai as a hub for human capital and knowledge investment.

Abdullah Mohammed Al Awar, CEO of the Knowledge Fund Foundation, emphasized that this support serves as a tangible example of how community resources can create meaningful change in education.

He commended The Endowments and Minors’ Trust Foundation in Dubai for its unwavering dedication to sustaining educational opportunities, underlining the critical role of endowments in ensuring their long-term viability.

He emphasised that the collaboration aims to significantly amplify the impact of the Dubai Schools initiative by fostering a learning environment that aligns with students’ aspirations and facilitates their development.

The focus remains on providing targeted support to students from Emirati families, ensuring educational stability while offering greater opportunities for their future growth.

This initiative is also in direct alignment with the Dubai Education Strategy 2033, striving to elevate the quality of education and broaden its accessibility.

By doing so, it contributes to building a more efficient and sustainable education system, while reinforcing investment in human capital as a key driver for development.

Omar Juma Al Mazmi, Director of the Endowment Department at the Awqaf and Minors’ Funds Management Foundation, highlighted that the Foundation’s involvement in the Dubai Schools project underscores its unwavering dedication to advancing the education sector. This commitment stems from a deep belief in education as a fundamental pillar for fostering thriving communities and ensuring a sustainable future.

Al Mazmi emphasised the foundation’s dedication to leveraging its endowment resources for initiatives that create a meaningful and positive impact on society.

He highlighted the partnership with the Knowledge Fund Foundation as a prime example of productive collaboration among national institutions to enhance education and enable students to fulfill their academic and professional goals.

He reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to supporting influential educational programmes and projects, aligning with the visionary leadership’s focus on investing in human capital and strengthening the UAE’s educational system’s global competitiveness.

Notably, the value of educational endowment assets managed by the Awqaf and Minors’ Funds Management Foundation in Dubai has reached Dhs718 million this year, spread across 52 endowment properties.

The revenues generated by these endowments play a critical role in bolstering the education sector and assisting students from low-income families, underscoring the pivotal role that endowments play in sustaining education and benefiting the wider community.
