Abu Dhabi Police warn motorists against distracted driving

Abu Dhabi Police, in co-operation with the Monitoring and Control Centre and as part of ‘Your Comment’ initiative, broadcast a video of accidents caused by distracted driving and entering the road without ensuring it was clear of vehicles.

Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi Police’s Traffic and Patrols Directorate called on motorists to ensure that the road is clear before entering it to enhance their safety while driving. It urged them to avoid distractions and to focus completely while driving to avoid road surprises and be able to act in a timely and safe manner.

A fine of Dhs400 and four black points would be imposed on motorists entering the road without ensuring it was clear, it said, adding that a fine of Dhs800 and four black points would be imposed on distracted driving.
