Despite financial disparity, FIFA unite teams under one banner

The beautiful game of football is a great leveller. It has the power to bring the richest on level with the poorest and mightiest with the weakest.

The 48 countries, which have come to represent their respective nations, are playing under one banner and abiding by the same rules and regulations despite a huge gap in financial disparity.

This shows the power of the beautiful game where no one is superior to the other because of their economic value.

However, the value of the teams does not reflect the wealth of their nations. It is the combined market value of the players playing in that team.

The European heavyweights France, England, Spain and Portugal top the list with a few reaching a market value of over a billion.

While some teams are valued at less than 20 million Euros, which shows the great financial gap among the participants.

France are leading with a current value of 1.5 billion Euros. Top five players of France are valued at more than 100 million each with Kylian Mbappe leading the way.

England, Spain and Portugal also have assembled a squad with a valuation over one billion Euros. These heavyweights are not only economically wealthy but also among the favourites.

Joao Neves of Paris Saint-Germain is top grosser for Portugal with a market value of 140 million to be followed by the PSG team-mate Vitinha, who also has the same market price.

PSG’s Nuno Mendes and Ruben Dias of Manchester City are also among the top contributors in taking Portugal past the one- billion mark.

Surprisingly, Ronaldo, who is the richest footballer with a net worth of I.2 billion dollars does not feature in the top five Portugal players with the highest market value.

Former champions Germany are valued at 947million euros with both Jamal Muisala and Florian Wirtz leading the list with 100 million euros each.

Defending champions Argentina are at seventh spot with an 807 million euros mark. Brazil are sixth with Vinicius junior leading the chart for his team with a 140 million euros market price to be followed by Chelsea’s duo of Estevao and Joao Pedro, who are both valued at euros 80 million each.

The last 14 teams in the list are valued below 100 million euros each while the top 18 players have a current market price of over 100 million individually, which shows the great financial disparity. Cape Verde whose market value is 49 million are taking on Argentina who are 16 times more than their counterparts with over 800 million market value. Qatar comes at the bottom with a value of 19.7 million.
