Al Ain International Spring Chess Festival ends on successful note

Al Ain Chess and Mind Games Club concluded the Al Ain Classical Chess Championship, organized by the club as part of the Al Ain International Spring Chess Festival.

The tournament saw the participation of 60 players from Al Ain Chess and Mind Games Club and the Al Ain Chess Academy.

The championship featured exciting matches marked by intense concentration, a hallmark of classical chess, with participants showcasing strong performances that highlighted the players’ improving technical skills.

The final results saw Ahmed Younes Al Khamiri of Al Ain Chess and Mind Games Club crowned first place with six and a half points out of seven rounds. Second place went to Mohammed Saeed Al Shamsi, also from Al Ain Chess and Mind Games Club, with the same score, while Indian player Evan Matthew claimed third place with 5.5 points.

Additionally, Abdulrahman Al Ajatti received the club’s Best Player award, and Sheikha Abdullah Al-Marri was named Best Female Player.

At the conclusion of the tournament, Hisham Ali Al Taher, Managing Director and CEO of the club, and Sultan Al-Zahri, President of the Club’s Youth Council, honored the winners, presenting awards and medals in a celebratory atmosphere that reflects the club’s commitment to recognizing excellence and encouraging players to continue excelling.

This championship is part of a series of events organized by the club as part of the Al Ain International Spring Chess Festival, which aims to promote sports engagement, attract elite players from around the world, and support young talents by providing them opportunities to gain experience.
