National treasure

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) lifted the IPL Trophy for the second consecutive year by defeating Gujarat Titans (GT) on Sunday. One of the most entertaining sports events came to an end. Lots of young Indian players impressed us but one such player who mesmerised everyone was Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. A 15-year-boy made history by making more than 750 runs in a single tournament. He also broke the record of Chris Gale, by hitting the maximum number of sixes. Vaibhav looks a different player. A young boy who is not scared of facing the best bowlers of the world, be it Pat Cummins, Jasprit Bumrah, Kagiso Rabada or Lungi Ngidi. He has not only impressed fans but also left in awe legendary players like Sachin Tendulkar, Virendra Sehwag, Irfan Pathan and Harbhajan Singh.

I remember someone on television said that Vaibhav has the class of Sachin and aura of M.S. Dhoni. In his last match when he got out on 97, the entire stadium turned silent. This shows Vaibhav has the charm of Dhoni. With time, I am sure he will become a crowdpuller. I also appreciate the Rajasthan Royals management for handling the young boy. I have seen umpteen times that Vaibhav is sitting either with senior players or with his manager. This young boy is a national treasure and he should be looked after nicely.
