Food for thought

Some story headlines seem so silly until you actually read the articles and they become rather sad stories. The incident may seem trivial but it shows how humans can make the wrong choices.

The Vietnamese police have rescued over 400 stolen cats that were destined for restaurants. Yes, people can be so desperate for food that this could be tolerable but they wouldn’t be going to restaurants. Yes, there are too many cats but sterilisation by vets would be more humane.

The loss of some families’ pets is a concern but the real issue is the availability of simple, nutritious food for everyone that people can admit to eating.

An article on improved food production and distribution would be wonderful, although probably not as interesting.
