On Tuesday afternoon, for the second consecutive day, hail hit Masafi and Marbad, while rain swept through Masafi and Al Watan Street in the Eastern Region.
This weather pattern resulted from the country’s exposure to a surface low-pressure system extending from the east, combined with an upper-atmosphere low-pressure system.
These conditions led to the formation of cumulus clouds, bringing rain and strong winds that kicked up dust from one o’clock until eight in the evening.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) reported that the lowest temperature recorded on Tuesday morning was 26.3°C at Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah, observed at 3:15 AM.
On Tuesday, the weather was clear to partly cloudy, with cumulus clouds developing in the east and spreading over certain inland areas, bringing rain. Winds shifted from southeasterly to northwesterly, varying from light to moderate and sometimes becoming strong enough to raise dust in certain eastern, western, and inland regions.
Wind speeds ranged from 10 to 25 km/h, reaching up to 48 km/h at times. The sea conditions remained calm in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman. The NCM forecasts that cloud formation will persist over inland, eastern, and southern regions, with rainfall expected on Wednesday and Thursday.
On Wednesday, the weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy, with the potential for cumulus clouds developing in the east and south during the afternoon, possibly bringing rain.
Winds will vary from light to moderate, occasionally picking up strength, blowing from the southeast to northeast at speeds of 10 to 25 km/h, possibly reaching up to 40 km/h.
The Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are expected to experience slight seas.
On Thursday, similar conditions are predicted, clear to partly cloudy skies with a chance of cumulus clouds in the east and south that could lead to rain.
A slight rise in temperatures is expected. Wind patterns will remain similar, with light to moderate breezes occasionally becoming brisk, southeasterly to northeasterly at 10 to 25 km/h, potentially increasing up to 40 km/h. The seas are expected to be slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
For Friday, clear to partly cloudy weather is forecasted, with clouds likely appearing in the eastern and southern areas.
These may develop into cumulus clouds later in the day. Winds will blow from the northeast to northwest at speeds of 10 to 20 km/h, possibly reaching up to 35 km/h, and the seas will remain slight in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
Saturday’s conditions are expected to mirror Friday’s, with clear to partly cloudy skies and cloud development in the east and south during the afternoon.
Winds will shift from light to moderate to occasionally brisk from the northeast to northwest, blowing at 10 to 20 km/h and potentially reaching 35 km/h. The seas are set to stay slight in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
