The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced the temporary shift to distance learning at all public and private schools and higher education institutions nationwide, effective Tuesday, May 5, 2026, until Friday, May 8, 2026.
It noted that priority academic programs requiring clinical training, laboratory use, direct practical or field application, or in-person exams are exempt from this change and will continue with in-person instruction, as determined by the Ministry.
This measure is being taken to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the educational community. The situation will be reviewed on Friday, 8 May 2026, and the period may be extended if necessary
