UAE grants visas upon arrival to citizens of six more countries

The UAE has announced that citizens of six countries and their families will be granted entry visas upon arrival for 14 or 60 days.

The countries benefiting from this decision include citizens of Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Kenya and South Africa, holding ordinary passports, and their family members who have a valid residence permit from one of the following countries: USA, European Union countries, UK, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and Canada, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) said.

The validity period of the visa after entry is 14 days or 60 days depending on the type of visa, it added.

The 14-day entry visa for citizens of some countries can be renewed only once during the stay in the country, while the same visa cannot be renewed if it is issued for 60 days, as it is issued only once, it said.

In the event that the validity period of the visa expires after entry, whatever its type, the beneficiary must leave the country, as offenders will be fined Dhs50 per day, it added.

The total fee for issuing a 14-day visa for nationals of some countries residing outside it is Dhs100, while the total fee for issuing a 60-day visa is Dhs250.

This step reflects the flexibility of the entry and residence system in the UAE and the country’s keenness to facilitate the journey of those wishing to visit it and provide them with all facilities that meet their aspirations.

In this context, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) has affirmed that expanding the circle of beneficiaries of this visa reflects the UAE’s keenness to deepen its bilateral relations with friendly countries and build strong humanitarian, economic and cultural partnerships with them.

It also opens wider prospects for the citizens of these countries to get to know more about the UAE’s rich cultural assets and distinguished opportunities and enjoy its tourism and economic assets, attractive and stimulating business environment and infrastructure that is among the best in the world.

MOFA, in co-operation and integration with the relevant authorities in the country, continues to facilitate the movement of individuals, simplify consular procedures and consolidate the UAE’s position as a global destination for entrepreneurs, talents and promising competencies.

The ICP stated that the new amendments regarding visas for citizens of some countries residing outside of it embodied ICP’s approach to developing the services and visa system, expanding the base of beneficiaries and meeting the aspirations of broad groups who wish to visit the UAE.

The new amendments also keep pace with the latest global trends in the field of travel, tourism and mobility and enhance partnership with other countries with a view to supporting the UAE’s leadership in global indicators for residency, tourism and travel.
