US President Donald Trump revealed that his life is in danger, and that he is the number one person on the list of targets in Iran, stressing at the same time that its leaders have become more rational after the defeat they suffered in the recent war.
During a press conference, Trump praised the military results achieved against Tehran, considering that “the military operation against Iran was a great success, as we destroyed its military power and eliminated its leaders.”
The behavior of Iran’s leaders changed
Despite the escalation, Trump indicated a change in the behavior of the Iranian leadership, saying: “Iranian leaders are now more rational” compared to previous periods.
Trump indicated that he wants to radically end the Iran issue, and not play with the current leaders. He said: “The leaders of the first and second levels in Iran have left, and now there is the third level.”
The US military responded to the Iranian bombing
He pointed to the conflicting positions of Tehran, saying: “The Iranians wanted a deal and then they opened fire on the ships,” explaining that the American army responded to them with strikes ten times stronger.
Regarding the possibility of returning to the diplomatic table, or signing new treaties with Tehran, Trump showed retreat or asceticism in the current negotiating path, as he stated, saying: “I am not sure I want to conclude an agreement with the Iranian leaders at the present time.”
No nuclear weapons are in the hands of lunatics
Trump also renewed his adherence to the red line to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons, saying: “We will not accept the presence of lunatics who obtain nuclear weapons.”
Trump indicated that there is no need for further military escalation with Iran now, especially since it allows oil to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
Oil passes and we do not seek a long war
Trump said: “There is a lot of oil passing through the Strait of Hormuz, and we are not seeking a long war.”
On another level, Trump stressed that NATO countries are making significant and noticeable progress towards reaching 5% of defense spending of their gross domestic product, stressing the need for military preparation for the next stage by saying: “We must produce defense equipment at a faster pace to face global challenges.”
