The Tourist Police Department of the General Department of Criminal Investigation, Dubai Police, surprised an Arab tourist, hours after she left the country for her home country by informing her that the Dhs3,000 she had lost in a shopping mall was found and transferred to her via bank transfer.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Abdul Rahman, Director of the Tourist Police Department, the tourist submitted a report through the Tourist Support Service on Dubai Police app, stating that she had lost Dhs3,000 in a shopping mall and that she could not do anything or return to the mall because she had to depart the country.
Abdul Rahman indicated that Dubai Police assured her that they would follow up on the report immediately and that the money would reach her home country once it was found.
He noted that a field team was formed by the Shopping Mall Security Department of the Tourist Police Department, and followed up on the report and the tourist’s movements in the shopping mall.
The team was able within two hours to find the full amount in a shop in the shopping mall and then contacted her and transferred the money to her.
Surprised by the speedy response to her report, the tourist said she was happy about the return of her money, noting that she did not expect to find it, especially in a shopping mall that was very crowded with people.
