
Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), in cooperation with a number of entities in the emirate, inspected the readiness of private schools in preparation for the start of the new academic year, as part of joint efforts to ensure the provision of a safe, healthy, and prepared educational environment to receive students.
Representatives from SPEA, Sharjah Civil Defence (SCD), Sharjah Health Authority (SHA), Sharjah Police, and Sharjah City Municipality participated in the inspection visits, where various preparations were reviewed to ensure that schools meet the approved requirements and standards.
Engineer Hamad Al Hammadi, from the CDA, said that the authority has prepared to receive the academic year by raising the level of readiness, with a focus on enhancing prevention and safety measures in educational facilities.
Al Hammadi explained that the CDA’s teams are working to ensure the readiness of alarm and firefighting systems, and to inspect emergency exits and evacuation paths, to ensure the provision of the highest levels of safety within educational facilities.
Al Hammadi pointed out the intensification of awareness efforts directed at school administrations and educational staff, in addition to reviewing evacuation exercises and plans, emphasising the importance of the readiness of evacuation plans and the regular implementation of drills, to ensure speed of response and safe evacuation in the event of any emergency.
Rashid Al Mazmi, Head of the Sanctions Department at SPEA, said that the authority has prepared to carry out field visits to private schools in the emirate to ensure their readiness to receive students, and field teams have been formed to follow up on all schools in Sharjah and the Central Region.
Abdullah Al Ghafli, an inspector in the Health Control Department (HCD), affirmed the readiness for the new year by conducting field visits, inspection tours, and campaigns on schools to ensure the highest levels of quality and safety for students, explaining that the inspection operations include various facilities in schools to ensure they meet health and safety requirements and standards, and to provide a safe and healthy school environment for students.
