Sharjah Police arrested a driver for driving his vehicle on a public road using a windshield sunshade that obstructed his view, in a serious traffic behaviour that posed a direct danger to his life and the lives of road users.
The driver’s behavior limited his ability to monitor the road and respond to sudden situations, thus increasing the likelihood of traffic accidents, they said.
It is classified under Article 1 of the Traffic Law, which states that driving a vehicle in a way that endangers lives or to use any tools that obstruct a driver’s vision or cause damage to public or private facilities is a violation that incurs a fine of Dhs2,000, 23 black points and vehicle impoundment for 60 days.
Sharjah Police called on all drivers to be responsible, abide by traffic rules and refrain from using any means or tools that obstruct vision or affect the ability to drive safely, stressing their continued efforts to monitor and control dangerous traffic behaviours, which contributes to protecting lives and property and enhancing the safety and security of road users.
