
On Thursday, the second day of Eid Al Adha, families and visitors continued to flock to entertainment and cultural destinations, beaches, public parks and shopping malls in Abu Dhabi, which witnessed active movement from the morning hours until late in the evening, amid a festive atmosphere dominated by expressions of joy.
Shopping malls witnessed a large turnout of visitors who were distributed among restaurants, cafes, shopping stores and children’s play areas, especially with the variety of activities and services they provide during the Eid holiday.
The electronic and physical gaming areas witnessed a remarkable influx of visitors, while the management of shopping malls were keen to offer entertainment shows and seasonal discounts on clothing and consumer products, in addition to live events, shows and competitions aimed at families.
On the beaches and public parks, the movement of visitors continued throughout the evening hours, as the Corniche and waterfront areas witnessed a large presence of families who enjoyed the night atmosphere, open seating areas and children’s games, while groups of young people spread out in the open spaces and picnic areas overlooking the sea.
The museums and cultural facilities in the capital also witnessed an increasing turnout of visitors wishing to have different experiences that combined entertainment and knowledge, as they presented a number of interactive programmes and artistic activities inspired by the atmosphere of Eid and Emirati heritage.
During the Eid holiday, the Louvre Abu Dhabi offered a variety of artistic and cultural experiences including visual and auditory displays, meditation and relaxation sessions, as well as film screenings held under its iconic dome, while some events explored themes related to space, science fiction and travel.
At Zayed National Museum, the Eid Joy programme continued, featuring a variety of cultural and heritage activities including poetry, music, folk performances and handicrafts, in addition to interactive experiences inspired by traditional Emirati Majalis and the atmosphere of old Eid celebrations.
One of the poetry experiences within the museum gave visitors the opportunity to share their memories and personal experiences with poets who wrote poems inspired by their stories in a scene that combined art and human connection.
Meanwhile, the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi offered a diverse family programme that included children’s workshops and nature-inspired art activities, along with guided tours inside the museum that introduced visitors to its design and environmental vision.
Yas Island In terms of entertainment destinations, Yas Island continued to attract large numbers of visitors, especially in the theme parks and water parks, which were constantly bustling with activity at games, live shows and family facilities.
Water games and roller coasters witnessed a clear turnout from young people and families, while many visitors were keen to move between more than one entertainment destination during the day, taking advantage of the variety of options provided by the island.
