Noor, the mother of Jordanian child Katia Abu Al Saud, travelled with her daughter from Queen Alia International Airport in Amman to Dubai on Saturday to start her treatment at Al Jalila Children’s Hospital.
On Instagram, Katia’s mother expressed her gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for his humanitarian support in fully covering Katia’s treatment.
Previously, the Dubai Media Office announced that Sheikh Mohammed would sponsor the treatment of Katia, who is one year and four months old and suffers from spinal muscular atrophy. This decision followed an appeal from her mother, as the treatment was unavailable in Jordan and cost an unaffordable $2.4 million (Dhs8.8 million).
