Man pays Dhs30,000 for jumping red light

Al Ain Court of Civil, Commercial and Administrative Cases ordered a man to pay Dhs30,000 in compensation to another, who was driving his vehicle adhering to traffic rules, while the first drove his vehicle recklessly and negligently running a red light, colliding with his vehicle and several other vehicles, resulting in severe damage to the second person’s vehicle which made it irreparable.

In the details, a man filed a lawsuit against another requesting that he be ordered to pay him Dhs60,000, as compensation for all material and moral damage with legal interest from the date of the judicial claim until full payment, and to bear the fees and expenses.

The complainant stated that while driving his vehicle on the correct lane adhering to traffic rules, he was surprised by the appellee driving his vehicle recklessly and negligently running a red light, colliding with his vehicle and several other vehicles, resulting in severe damage to the complainant’s vehicle which made it irreparable,

He added that the insurance company paid an amount of Dhs65,000 as compensation, and that the vehicle was funded by a bank loan of Dhs80,000, adding that the compensation amount paid by the insurance company was not sufficient to cover all obligations resulting from the accident as he was forced to pay an additional amount of Dhs7,000 from his own pocket, to clear his liability toward the bank after settling the loan.

He added that he incurred other transportation expenses as a result of being deprived of the use of his vehicle, and suffered psychological and moral harm due to the accident.
