Hind is the pillar of my home and my greatest achievement…

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, conveyed a heartfelt letter to Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum in his recently released book “The Letters”, part Ⅱ of his book “Lessons From Life”. He describes her as his greatest achievement, his most beautiful memory, and a source of solace, home, and serenity.

His shared text of the letter on his “X” account, reading:

“To Hind,

To my life’s companion, the pillar of my home, and the essence of my existence, Mother of the Sheikhs, Hind Bint Maktoum Al Maktoum:

You are my greatest achievement, my most cherished memory, and my sweetest moments. You are my life partner, sharing in my dreams and accompanying me on my journey.

You are my support, my comfort, and my homeland. You are the person closest to my soul, dearest to my heart, and the most beautiful gift from God.

May God protect you, light of my eyes and soul’s essence. May He safeguard you, mother of Hamdan, Maktoum, and the Sheikhs.

May God keep you as a source of comfort for me, a heartbeat for our city, and a homeland for your children, grandchildren, and loved ones.

A lifetime together with you, Hind; forever the most beautiful, closest, dearest, and most loyal.

Through this life we’ve shared, you’ve been solace, home, and tranquility; a great mother, a compassionate wife, and the quiet strength with which I face the world.

To our children, you’ve been their first school, their first teacher, and their first role model. In their humility today, I see the influence of your words; in their compassion for people, the reflection of your heart; and in their dedication and loyalty to their homeland, an enduring testament to your love.

Hind is the pillar of my home and my greatest achievement, says Sheikh Mohammed in a letter to his wife

For forty-seven years, O Mother of Sheikhs… We shall forever remember your hard work, enduring patience, countless sacrifices, and heartfelt prayers. Over these years, you’ve been a symbol of generosity, a source of goodness, and a mother to those without one. Your most beautiful deeds are known only to God, and your happiest moments are the ones where you eased the burdens of the less fortunate.

Forty-seven years, Hind… Your heart’s essence remains unchanged; time has only enriched the love, mercy, and blessings you’ve received from your Lord. Our children have grown, our accomplishments have multiplied, and we’ve passed many milestones; yet, experiencing this journey with you, Hind, has been the most beautiful achievement of all.

The greatest gift in my life is having traversed this long path with Hind by my side. Life with you taught me that a wife is not just a partner; she is the foundation, the balance, and the keeper of family memories. She bears witness to life’s changes, preserves its history, brings unity to scattered pieces, calms turbulence, and fills every soul with serenity.

Our true legacy, Hind, is not in what we’ve built in stone but in the love nurtured in our children’s hearts, the virtues we’ve instilled in them, and the compassion and goodness towards humanity we’ve left behind. Be to our grandchildren what you were to our children: a refuge for the heart, a wellspring of wisdom, and a guide on the path of virtue.

Share with them stories of our ancestors, the greatness of our homeland, and the responsibility we owe to one another. Teach them that life among us is not measured by years but by accomplishments—and by the number of hearts touched and dreams fulfilled. Remind them always that the nation anticipates their role—to safeguard its achievements, protect its successes, and elevate it to its highest potential.

I pray to God that you, Hind, remain a home, a sanctuary, and a beacon of light for all your children and that your eyes remain a haven for innocence, dreams, and life.

Always and forever yours,

Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum
