Dubai Tourist Police honour taxi driver who returned Dhs1…

The Dubai Tourist Police Department at the General Department of Criminal Investigation has honoured a taxi driver in recognition of his honesty and integrity, and for his swift action in returning Dhs10,000 to a tourist at Dubai International Airport before his departure flight.

Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Abdul Rahman, Director of the Tourist Police Department, honoured the driver, Geoffrey Ezra Amos, in the presence of Captain Ahmed Mohammed Al Muhairi, Head of the Tourist Happiness Section. He praised the driver’s honesty and his dedication to returning the money before the tourist missed his flight.

The incident took place when a tourist, rushing to catch his flight, forgot a small bag containing the cash and personal belongings in the taxi. Realising his loss, he immediately contacted the Tourist Police Department for assistance in retrieving the items before his flight departed .

The Tourist Police swiftly swung into action, identifying the driver and contacting him. The driver confirmed the bag was in his vehicle and promptly returned to the airport, handing over the money to the police. The Tourist Police then returned the cash to the relieved tourist, who praised the high level of honesty and safety in Dubai.
