The Dubai Police successfully reunited a six-year-old girl with her family within just half an hour after she went missing in Naif. They advise parents to keep a close watch on their children and educate them on seeking help.
The Dubai Police General Command stressed the importance of parental vigilance, urging parents not to leave their children unattended. This ensures their safety and helps prevent any harm. They further stressed that it is primarily the family’s duty to protect their children. Parents should instruct their kids on what to do if they get separated and how to approach police or security personnel for assistance in crowded or public areas.
This reminder followed the swift action by Naif Police Station in returning a lost six-year-old girl to her family in a remarkably short time.
Brigadier Expert Omar Moussa Ashour, Director of Naif Police Station, mentioned that they received a report from the Command and Control Centre of the General Department of Operations about a missing six-year-old girl in Fereej Al Murar area.
A team was promptly assembled, and her photo was distributed to all station patrols and detectives. Within thirty minutes of the report, a patrol located her on a street within their jurisdiction. She appeared very frightened and was crying. The patrol brought her to the station, where the Victim Liaison Department looked after her until her father arrived.
Brigadier Ashour explained that the girl’s father recounted how he had taken her to a nearby grocery store. After she finished shopping, he turned around and couldn’t find her. He initially thought she might have returned home, but upon reaching their building, he realised she wasn’t with her mother. Unable to find her nearby, he reported her missing to the police.
