Delivery driver faces embezzlement charge for not returni…

The Sharjah Misdemeanor Court looked into the case of a delivery driver accused of embezzling a motorcycle, which he refused to return to his company following a traffic accident that resulted in serious injuries to him.

According to case documents, the owner of the delivery company filed a report indicating that they had given the employee a motorcycle for work purposes. However, after he ceased his employment, he did not return the motorbike, leading the company to pursue legal action for embezzlement.

During the trial, the court presented the charges to the defendant, but he denied them. He explained that he had been involved in a traffic accident while working, which resulted in a broken arm, a dislocated shoulder, and a loss of consciousness. This situation prevented him from returning the motorcycle or contacting his employer at the time.

He mentioned that once he recovered, he reached out to his supervisor to explain the circumstances of the accident. He stressed that he retained the motorcycle because he received no compensation for his medical expenses, which he had paid for himself.

After reviewing the case file and listening to both parties, the Sharjah Misdemeanor Court decided to postpone sentencing to a later session.
