Ajman Police received financial support of Dhs792,500 from the International Charity Organisation, to contribute to relieving the distress of a number of inmates at the Punitive and Correctional Institution (PCI).

Colonel Mohammed Mubarak Al Ghafli, PCI’s Director, expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to the ICO for its continuous humanitarian support, praising this noble initiative which reflects the high values of social responsibility, the role of institutions in enhancing concepts of solidarity and social cohesion, and providing a helping hand to groups in need.

Al Ghafli explained that this generous donation would contribute to relieving the distress of a number of inmates and enable them to start a new life and overcome difficult circumstances. This enhances their opportunities for rehabilitation and positive integration into society, in line with the PCI’s strategy aimed at comprehensive correctional care for inmates.

The Secretary General of the ICO, Dr Khalid Al Khaja, said that charitable work does not only mean providing material aid, but also includes helping those in need, solving their crises, and standing by them and their families, it also translates the directives of ‘our wise leadership’ that made charitable work an inherent part of our social construction, while fully maintaining the privacy and dignity of beneficiaries in all humanitarian initiatives.
