A 13-year-old Emirati boy tragically lost his life by drowning off the coast of Ras Al Khaimah last Tuesday afternoon after rescuing his 7-year-old sister from drowning. The girl survived along with two of their cousins, aged 8 and 9.
The heartbreaking incident occurred at Flamingo Beach, behind the Saudi Institute, in Ras Al Khaimah.
The three survivors were transported to Saqr Government Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah, where they received first aid and medical treatment before being discharged in stable condition the following day.
The boy’s father (A.S.) said that his son was loved by everyone and had achieved high academic results shortly before his death. He had brought home his school report card, filled with joy, and had asked his father for an iPhone 17 as a reward for his success and excellence.
The boy (M.A.A.S.) was laid to rest at Al Salhiya Cemetery in Ras Al Khaimah the day after the incident (Wednesday), following funeral prayers held at Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Mosque, attended by a large number of mourners.
A medical source stated that the boy was brought to Saqr Hospital after he had already passed away. The necessary official procedures were carried out before his body was handed over to his family.
