Dubai International Airport has achieved a new global achievement, ranking second among the best transit airports for 2026, confirming its leading position as one of the most important and developed international air connectivity hubs, according to a recent study by the British global airport consulting and services company “Airport Parking and Hotels.”
According to the study, Dubai Airport greatly benefits from its unique strategic location, connecting the continents of Europe, Asia, and Africa, in addition to possessing advanced infrastructure which has made it a major attractive hub for millions of travellers annually, by providing a comprehensive transit experience, including luxurious lounges, world-class duty-free shopping areas, diverse dining options, and 24-hour internal hotels and rest facilities.
The study results showed that Singapore Changi Airport topped the list of the world’s best transit airports for 2026, while Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in the US ranked third, followed by Japan’s Haneda Airport in fourth place, and South Korea’s Incheon Airport in fifth place.
This recognition affirms the significant change in travellers’ perception of transit airports, being merely mandatory stopovers lacking services in some airports, but other airports have transformed into standalone travel destinations.
