Ambassador lauds Pakistani CA talent driving UAE’s competitive market

The UAE Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) successfully hosted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Members’ Recognition Ceremony Dubai.

The high-profile evening celebrated the outstanding leadership, professional excellence, and corporate impact of Pakistani Chartered Accountants across the region, drawing a full-house attendance of over 175 prominent members and financial leaders.

The prestigious event was graced by a distinguished panel of leadership and diplomats.

Shafqat Ali Khan, Ambassador of Pakistan to the UAE, attended as the chief guest. Guests of Honour included Naweed Lalani (Director, Dubai Financial Services Authority), JehanZeb Amin (Vice President, ICAP), and Ali Zeb Khan (Trade Counsellor, Pakistan Embassy UAE).

During his address, Shafqat conveyed that every credentialed Pakistani chartered accountant in the UAE serves as a direct point of prestige for Pakistan. He noted that recognising their career milestones cements the reputation of Pakistani talent in the highly competitive UAE marketplace. Furthermore, their contributions are recognised not only as personal career triumphs but as a vital workforce pillar feeding into the UAE’s broader economic diversification and regional financial hub goals.

The proceedings commenced with an opening welcome address by Yasir Gadit (Chairman OCC, ICAP). Sadiq Saleem (Head of Group Finance Shared Services, Pure Health Group) served as the Master of Ceremony, steering the evening’s program seamlessly.

A major highlight of the evening was the milestone awards ceremony, which honoured 72 ICAP members for reaching significant professional benchmarks. These individuals were commemorated for their structural contributions to the regional economy across three categories: Gold (50 years), Silver (25 years), and Bronze (15 years) of dedicated service to the profession.

The official AGM proceedings were chaired by Khushboo Mushtaq (Chairperson 2025-26), marking the successful conclusion of a highly impactful tenure characterised by robust leadership and professional engagement. Closing remarks were delivered by Muhammad Asif Iqbal, Chairman of the ICAP UAE Chapter, who expressed profound gratitude to the distinguished guests, partners, and all participants.

The evening concluded with an elegant dinner, providing a vital platform for strategic networking, collaborative exchanges, and professional synergy among the region’s top financial minds.
