UAE announces 4-day Eid Al Adha holiday for private sector

Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has announced a four-day paid holiday for private sector employees across the UAE to mark Arafat Day and Eid Al Adha.

According to the ministry, the official break will begin on Tuesday, May 26, and continue until Friday, May 29, with employees expected to resume work on Saturday, May 30. The announcement was made in line with the UAE Cabinet’s decision regulating official public holidays in the country.

The Eid Al Adha break is one of the most significant holidays in the Islamic calendar and is widely celebrated across the UAE with prayers, family gatherings and festive events. The extended holiday is expected to lead to increased domestic travel, hotel bookings and entertainment activities across the emirates as residents plan short vacations and family outings.

Government entities and private businesses are also expected to announce special programmes and celebrations to mark the occasion in the coming days.
