The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has vehemently denied the baseless rumours of India considering the evacuation of all Indian nationals from UAE through the Fujairah Port.
According to media reports, India is not considering signing any MoU with the UAE for evacuation of Indian nationals from Fujairah, the MEA clarified.
The Indian government also denied that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would travel to Fujairah during his visit to the Gulf country this week.
The ministry’s X account, “MEA FactCheck” wrote with cutouts of article published on newspapers and websites, “There is no basis in fact for such a story. There is no evacuation being planned.
“Please stay alert against such false and baseless claims.”
The clarification came amid growing speculation circulating on social media platforms and some online reports that suggested India was preparing contingency plans for the evacuation of its citizens from Fujairah due to regional security concerns.
The MEA stressed that such claims were entirely fabricated and urged the public not to fall for misinformation.
Officials reiterated that the situation involving Indian nationals in the UAE remains normal and that there has been no advisory issued regarding evacuation or emergency relocation. The ministry also underscored the strong and stable ties between India and the United Arab Emirates, noting that both countries continue to maintain close coordination on matters concerning the welfare of expatriate communities.
The UAE is home to one of the world’s largest Indian expatriate populations, with millions of Indians living and working across the Emirates, including Fujairah. Indian authorities regularly monitor regional developments and remain in contact with local officials to ensure the safety and well-being of citizens abroad.
The MEA further appealed to media outlets and social media users to verify information through official government channels before sharing unconfirmed reports that could create unnecessary panic among the public and expatriate communities.
