Woman offers fake online investment plan, embezzles Dhs70…

Al Ain Civil, Commercial and Administrative Cases Court obligated a woman to pay Dhs70,000 plus Dhs10,000 as compensation to a man after she had embezzled the money under the pretext that she would invest it on electronic platforms.

Earlier, the victim filed a lawsuit against the woman in which he requested the court to obligate her to return the Dhs70,000 she had embezzled plus Dhs30,000 as compensation for the material and harms he had befallen and settle the incurred fees and expenses.

The plaintiff pleaded that the defendant misappropriated the cash money he had under the pretext of investing it and was convicted in a criminal case on charges of fraudulently obtaining the money for herself through the internet by persuading him into believing she would trade on his behalf via online platforms.

The defendant contacted him via Instagram and WhatsApp and induced him to transfer the money to her, as a result of which he suffered several harms and was prompted to file a lawsuit with the aforementioned requests, he added.
