Drizzles to moderate rain fell on Sunday on separate areas across the UAE including Abu Dhabi and its suburbs and Al Shuwaib area north of Al Ain as a result of the country being affected by an extension of a surface low-pressure system, accompanied by an extension of a low-pressure system in the upper atmosphere.
The weather in the coming days is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy at times with a chance of drizzles on some eastern and southern areas during the day and a rise in temperature, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
The weather, however, will be humid at night and in the following morning in some coastal and inland areas with a chance of light fog.
Light to moderate southeasterly to northwesterly winds will blow, turning to active at times at 10 to 25 and up to 40 km/h, while the sea will have regular to moderate waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
Tuesday’s weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times in the south. Light to moderate northwesterly to southwesterly winds will blow, turning to active and dust-stirring at times at 10 to 25 and up to 40 km/h, while the sea will have regular to moderate waves and may become rough in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
RESIDENTS URGED TO AVOID APPROACHING WATER POOLS
Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Centre urged community members to avoid approaching water pools formed as a result of rainfall and to refrain from engaging in any activities in or near them to ensure everyone’s safety.
