Young man accused of stealing motorcycle after test ride in Sharjah

Sharjah Misdemeanor Court heard a case in which an Arab young man was accused of stealing a motorcycle based on a report filed by an auto workshop owner in which he stated that the motorcycle disappeared after it was given to the accused to test it.

Earlier, the surveillance cameras documented the accused leaving the workshop with the motorcycle and not returning with it, which strengthened suspicions that it had been stolen.

The motorcycle owner stated in his testimony before the court that he did not receive any money from the accused in exchange for selling the motorcycle, denying that any deal was completed between them.

A witness in the case stated that the accused came to the workshop and asked to meet its owner to buy the motorcycle and the latter agreed to sell it for Dhs8,000, adding that the accused asked the owner to test drive it, but left with the vehicle and did not return.

When confronted by the court with the charge of theft, the accused denied it, stating that he did not steal the motorcycle but rather there was an agreement to purchase it in installments, noting that he had not yet paid the full amount.

After listening to the statements of the parties and reviewing the evidence presented, the court decided to postpone the hearing of the case to a later session to pronounce the verdict.
