The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) affirmed that it would not tolerate any entity engaging in the recruitment of domestic workers without obtaining the necessary licences.
Strict legal, administrative and financial measures would be taken against offenders up to and including immediate closure and referral to the competent judicial authorities in line with the legislation in force in the country, it said.
The MoHRE urged customers to deal exclusively with licensed and accredited offices and to verify the reliability of any entity before entering into a contract, through official and approved channels with a view to protecting their rights and avoiding any legal consequences.
It explained through its electronic channels that recruiting domestic workers without a licence was a legal violation that would warrant multiple penalties including closing the violating office, immediately suspending its commercial activity and referring it to the judiciary so that the appropriate legal course, whether criminal or civil be taken against it.
In addition, legal, administrative and financial procedures would be taken against the violating office that might include imposition of large financial fines, it added.
As part of its awareness efforts, the MoHRE called on the public to abide by the regulations and report any illegal practices in order to support the protection of society and regulate the labour market in the country.
