The General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat announced that Eid al-Fitr prayers would be held in all mosques across the country, emphasizing that prayers will be confined to the mosques themselves.
In a statement, the Authority clarified that prayers will not be held in any Eid prayer grounds or open-air spaces throughout the UAE, in accordance with the measures taken by the government to ensure the safety of worshippers.
The UAE Government Media office said, “Eid Al Fitr prayers this year will be limited to mosques across the UAE and will not be held in Eid prayer grounds or open areas, in coordination with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai and the Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah.
“The step is in line with the measures taken by the country to ensure the safety of worshippers.
“The Authority calls on worshippers to adhere to the guidelines and arrive early to perform the Eid prayer in mosques to ensure their safety.”
