UAE hospitals welcome newborn babies on Eid

This Eid Al Fitr has brought happiness to the Bhattacharya family from India, who welcomed a baby boy, born in Aster Hospital Mankhool, Dubai, on Friday.

Shubhang Bhattacharya, a Marketing Manager, and Anushree Bhattacharya, a designer, welcomed their first child, baby Swarag, on March 20, 2026, at 7:54am. The newborn weighed 3.410 kg at birth.

The baby was delivered via an emergency Lower Segment Caesarean Section (LSCS).

Both mother and child are reported to be doing well. Expressing his joy, the father, said, “Overjoyed and elated to welcome our first child at Aster Hospital Mankhool on Eid Al Fitr. Thank you to all the staff and well-wishers. Eid Mubarak.”

At 12:25am on March 20, 2026, a healthy baby boy was born, marking a truly special Eid blessing for his family. The newborn, weighing 2.84 kg, is the first child of Ayesha Pant (31), an Indian national, and W. Rasanjana Srimantha Desilva (30), a Sri Lankan national.

The delivery was successfully conducted via LSCS (Cesarean section) by Dr. Shanthi at Thumbay University Hospital, ensuring the safety and well-being of both mother and baby.

The arrival of a baby during Eid carries deep emotional significance, symbolizing new beginnings, hope, and joy.

For the proud parents, the occasion is even more meaningful as they celebrate their first Eid as a family of three.

Speaking on the occasion, the delighted parents shared: “This Eid has given us the most precious gift of our lives. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful blessing.”

“Welcoming our baby on such a special day fills our hearts with gratitude and happiness. It truly feels like the start of something beautiful.”

The medical team at Thumbay University Hospital extended their heartfelt congratulations to the family, highlighting the safe delivery and the healthy condition of both mother and child.

Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi also witnessed the birth of the first baby during Eid Al Fitr in an event that added a special touch to this year’s Eid celebrations. Pakistani couple Saqib Rauf and Farah Diba Saqib welcomed their second child, who weighed 3.44 kg.

The happy father stated that the birth of his child in the very first moments of Eid held a special meaning for the family and reflected the importance of these moments that promote hope and new beginnings, adding that he would do his utmost to provide a bright future for his child.

Dr Sailaja Vuppu, Head of Department, Obstetrics and Gynecology at Burjeel Hospital, Abu Dhabi, stated that welcoming a newborn on such occasions reflected the meanings of hope and continuity and gave these moments a special human dimension, stressing the medical teams’ keenness on supporting families during these significant stages.

“This event embodies the atmosphere of joy that accompanies Eid Al Fitr, where the celebration meets the beginning of a new life in a scene that reflects the values of optimism and blessing.”

Recently, Burjeel Holdings signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and Alexandria University’s Abu Dhabi branch, to build strong global and regional partnerships that support healthcare workforce development and academic excellence.
