UAE businessman opens Ajman farmhouse to shelter travelle…

With air travel across parts of the Gulf facing disruption due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, an Indian expatriate in the United Arab Emirates has stepped forward with a gesture of generosity by opening his farm to stranded travellers who suddenly found themselves unable to continue their journeys.

Dozens of passengers affected by flight cancellations have been welcomed to stay at the property, where temporary arrangements have been made to ensure they have a comfortable place to rest.

Tents and mattresses have been set up across the open grounds, transforming the farm into a makeshift refuge for travellers from different countries waiting for clarity on their onward flights.

The initiative was started by Dr. Dhiraj Jain, head of 1XL Holdings, who decided to offer temporary shelter after learning that many travellers were struggling to find accommodation following the suspension of several flights from Dubai.

With hotels filling up quickly and uncertainty surrounding flight schedules, Jain opened the gates of his farm to anyone in need of a safe place to stay.

The atmosphere at the farm has gradually turned into a small community space, where guests support one another while waiting for travel operations to stabilise.

Travellers help prepare meals together, share tea and snacks, and spend time talking about their journeys and experiences. To pass the time and keep spirits high, some guests have organised friendly cricket matches in the open field, while others practice yoga in the calm surroundings.

Among those staying at the farm is Umang Soin, who said he learned about the initiative after his flight plans were disrupted. According to Soin, Jain even arranged transportation to bring stranded passengers from their hotels to the farm so they could stay comfortably until flights resume.

The effort has been widely appreciated by those affected, highlighting how acts of kindness and community spirit can make a significant difference during uncertain times.
