The Education, Human Development, and Community Development Council announces the continuation of distance learning in schools and higher education institutions, as well as flexible remote work arrangements for caregivers among federal government employees. Any updates will be announced through the official channels of the ministries, the authority, and educational institutions.
Three measures to enable the continuity of the education process and to ensure safety and wellbeing of everyone:
— Continuation of distance learning for a period of two weeks at the start of the third academic term for students, as well as teaching and administrative staff, across all nurseries, kindergartens, and public and private schools nationwide. The situation will be reviewed on a weekly basis in coordination with the Ministry of Education.
— Continuation of distance learning for a period of two weeks for students at all higher education institutions after the spring break, with weekly evaluation of the situation in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Higher education institutions may determine the appropriate mechanism for the work of academic and administrative staff in a manner that ensures the quality of the educational process.
— Flexible remote work arrangements will be made available for caregivers among federal government employees, including fathers or mothers whose job roles allow remote work, during the period in which distance learning is applied for students from kindergarten through Grade 8 and for children officially enrolled in nurseries, in coordination with the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources. This measure is introduced within the framework of the Year of the Family and as part of efforts to support the educational process in the country.
Private educational institutions, including schools, nurseries, and higher education institutions, are allowed to submit requests to return to in-person learning when needed.
Such requests will be assessed and the necessary action taken accordingly.
