A brand filed a complaint against a shop owner in which it accused him of displaying and selling counterfeit versions of its original products.
The competent authorities initiated their procedures and seized a number of goods displayed in the shop, which were examined and found to bear counterfeit trademarks.
In light of this, the case was referred to the Sharjah Misdemeanor Court, which charged the accused with possessing and displaying counterfeit trademark goods for sale.
During the hearing, the defendant denied the charge against him, stating that he would not risk the reputation of his business by selling counterfeit goods.
After listening to the defendant’s statements and reviewing the case file, Sharjah Misdemeanor Court decided to reserve the judgment.
