Sharjah waives public parking fees amid unstable weather

Sharjah City Municipality announced that users of public parking spaces would be exempt from fees for the day due to the unstable weather conditions in a step aimed at making things easier for the emirate’s residents and visitors, alleviating burdens and enhancing public safety during the current circumstances.

The municipality explained that the decision came as part of the precautionary measures taken to deal with the weather fluctuations with a view to ensuring smooth traffic flow and easing the movement of individuals without restrictions related to the use of paid parking lots.

The exemption covers all public parking spaces in the Emirate of Sharjah including the blue-sign designated parking zones, which require payment 7 days a week, it said.

The date for resuming work on the fee system would be updated according to the repercussions of the weather conditions, it added, calling on the public to follow the official channels to obtain the latest updates and instructions issued in this regard.
