In the spirit of unity and compassion during the Holy Month of Ramadan, the Pakistan Social Centre Sharjah (PSCS) organised a grand Community Iftar in Sharjah, bringing together a large gathering of distinguished members of the Pakistani diaspora in the UAE.

The event was attended by Hussain Muhammad, Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai and other top officials from the Pakistani Consulate in Dubai, media and prominent business leaders, reflecting the strong sense of solidarity within the Pakistani community in the UAE.

Addressing the gathering Hussain Muhammad, thanked President of the Pakistan Social Centre Sharjah, Chaudhry Khalid Hussain for hosting the grand Iftar party. He acknowledged the vital role played by overseas Pakistanis in strengthening the national economy.

He shared that during the month of February alone, the Pakistani community sent remittances amounting to $696 million underlining the significant contribution of expatriates to Pakistan’s economic stability.

He further remarked that despite global economic challenges, Pakistanis living abroad continue to display exceptional dedication, responsibility, and patriotism toward their homeland. Their commitment not only supports Pakistan’s economy but also strengthens the country’s global image.

POSITIVE ROLE

The Consul General also praised the positive role of Pakistanis residing in the UAE, noting that their professionalism, integrity, and hard work are enhancing Pakistan’s reputation internationally while further strengthening the longstanding friendly relations between Pakistan and the UAE.

A key highlight of the evening was a significant announcement made by the President of PSCS, Chaudhry Khalid Hussain. Demonstrating solidarity and compassion, he pledged financial assistance of Rs1 million each for the families of two Pakistanis, Mureeb Zaman and Muzaffar Ali, who were recently martyred.

The announcement was warmly welcomed and widely appreciated by the attendees, who commended the initiative as a meaningful step to support the affected families during their difficult time.

Speaking on the occasion, Chaudhry emphasised the responsibility of the community to stand by the families of martyrs and ensure a secure and hopeful future for their children. He reaffirmed the centre’s commitment to continue supporting such families and helping fulfill the aspirations and dreams of the next generation.

Participants at the event praised the initiative and highlighted the strong tradition of unity, compassion, and generosity among overseas Pakistanis, particularly during challenging times. Many speakers noted that the Pakistani community abroad has consistently demonstrated its willingness to support fellow citizens and contribute positively to society.
