
The visiting scholars, who are guests of the President of the UAE, commended the Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah for its leading role in serving the Book of Allah and safeguarding its rich Qur’anic heritage, which spans from the second century Hijri to the present day.
They highlighted the Qur’an’s vital role in shaping cohesive societies rooted in enduring civilisational values that uplift both individuals and communities at large.
The scholars also praised the vision and efforts of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, in founding this landmark institution.
They noted that the Academy offers distinctive experiences that present Qur’anic treasures across the ages, reinforcing its position as a global center for preserving and promoting Qur’anic heritage.
This came during the participation of the esteemed scholars, guests of the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in the Ramadan Nights Revival Programme organized by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat.
They were received by Dr Engineer Khalifa Musabah Al Teneiji, Chairman of the Academy; Dr Abdullah Khalaf Al Hosani, Secretary General; along with several department directors and heads of sections.
Dr. Engineer Khalifa Musabah Al Teneiji welcomed the esteemed scholars, guests of His Highness the President of the State, may God preserve him, noting the significant efforts undertaken by the United Arab Emirates, which is considered a global pioneer in serving the Holy Qur’an through distinguished institutions and initiatives dedicated to serving the Book of Allah, disseminating its sciences, printing the Holy Qur’an, caring for the Prophetic Sunnah, and launching local and international Qur’anic competitions and awards.
He pointed out that, in light of these efforts, we find ourselves before a vast sea of achievements through which the UAE has become a shining beacon in the service of the Book of Allah.
Al Teneiji also presented to the guests an overview of the Academy’s encyclopedic scholarly projects, in addition to the launch of the “Thamarat Al Thamara” initiative for graduates of the Sharjah Recitation School who belong to 172 countries around the world.
Through this initiative, they teach students in their home countries the authenticated modes of Qur’anic recitation in which they were certified at the Academy, alongside the study of several new scholarly projects to be launched by the Academy.
The Chairman of the Academy accompanied the esteemed scholars on a tour of the Qur’anic museums, where they learned about the history of writing the Holy Qur’an, its rare copies and manuscripts, the Museum of the Science of Qira’at, renowned reciters and their collections, in addition to the covering of the Holy Kaaba.
The guests expressed their admiration for what they saw at the Academy, which represents a distinguished civilizational landmark in Qur’anic intellectual heritage.
They expressed their sincere appreciation to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for his continued support and patronage of this distinguished cultural landmark, which attracts students and seekers of knowledge from around the globe.
