Dubai Civil Aviation Authority announced the temporary suspension of flights at Dubai International Airport as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of all passengers and staff.

The authorities took the decision after a drone incident in the vicinity of Dubai International Airport (DXB) affected one of the fuel tanks.

Dubai Civil Defence teams have successfully contained the fire resulting from impact to one of the fuel tanks in the vicinity of Dubai International Airport. No injuries have been reported.

Travellers are advised to contact their respective airlines for the latest updates regarding their flights. Further updates will be announced through official channels as soon as they become available.

The relevant authorities had earlier begun responding to the incident, which resulted from a drone that targeted the airport, taking the necessary measures in accordance with the highest approved safety standards.

The UAE Ministry of Defence affirmed that it remains fully prepared and ready to deal with any threats and will firmly confront any attempt to undermine the security of the state, ensuring the protection of its sovereignty, security and stability and safeguarding its interests and national capabilities.
