It urged passengers not to go to the airport unless they have been contacted directly by the company or if they have a confirmed booking on one of the new flights, given the continued operation of a limited schedule.

The airline also affirmed that all other scheduled commercial flights to and from Abu Dhabi remain suspended at present, and no additional flights will be operated until all required safety standards are met.

Affected guests will receive direct communication clarifying their flight status and available options, the company said, urging passengers to update their contact information and monitor their email for the latest updates. Regarding booking flexibility, the company clarified that passengers with tickets issued on or before February 28, 2026, for original travel dates up to March 21, 2026, can rebook free of charge on flights operated by Etihad Airways until May 15, 2026. Passengers on all Etihad flights until March 10 can also apply for a ticket refund via the company’s website or through travel agents, while those who booked through travel agencies were advised to contact their agent directly.

Eithad Airways noted that it is currently experiencing a significant increase in call volume, which may lead to delays in responding to calls, encouraging those wishing to claim ticket refunds to use the electronic refund request form available on its website. Etihad Airways concluded its statement by affirming that the safety of passengers and crew remains the top priority, and that flight operations will be limited to cases that meet all approved safety standards.
