The Abu Dhabi Police have called on drivers to prioritize safe driving practices during periods of rain and unstable weather. They advised motorists to check weather conditions before starting their journey and to steer clear of valleys or areas prone to water accumulation.
Authorities further highlighted the importance of complying with instructions and guidelines issued by relevant entities to ensure the safety of all road users.
The Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate provided a clear warning about the consequences of entering valleys during water flow, regardless of the perceived level of danger.
Violators face a fine of Dhs2,000, a 60-day impoundment of their vehicle, and 23 black points on their traffic code.
Additionally, the Directorate urged drivers to lower their speed and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles. It also pointed out the significant hazards posed by distractions such as taking photos while driving. Motorists were reminded to strictly adhere to the speed limits displayed on road signs and electronic traffic boards for everyone’s safety.
