Ajman’s metals sector surges as new factory registrations jump 28%

Mohamed Ali Al Janahi, Acting Director-General of the Ajman Chamber, said the number of iron, steel and metal industries factories in Ajman reached 190 factories in 2025, while membership of newly registered factories grew by 28 per cent, reflecting the sector’s notable expansion.

He added that the total number of Ajman Chamber memberships held by factories and companies operating in the iron, steel and metal industries reached 745 memberships in 2025, marking an annual growth rate of around 5 per cent.

His remarks came during the launch of the first commercial export shipment to the Gulf region by BelRemaitha Steel Factory in Ajman. The event was attended by Abdullah Abdul Mohsen Al Nuaimi, Director of Government Communication at Ajman Chamber, Dr. Adel Belremeitha, Founder and Chairman of BelRemaitha Steel Factory, along with several factory officials.

Al Janahi highlighted the advanced manufacturing capabilities available in Ajman and the UAE in the iron, steel and metal industries sector, noting that factories rely on the latest environmentally friendly industrial technologies and apply best practices in energy and resource efficiency. He said these efforts contribute to environmental sustainability, enhance the competitiveness of the industrial sector and increase productivity. Dr. Belremeitha said the factory’s products include reinforcement bars, alloys and pipes, noting that the factory’s strategy focuses on several key pillars, including enhancing local production capabilities, building strategic partnerships and developing operational processes supported by advanced technologies.

He added that the factory also aims to establish regional distribution centres, which will help expand market access and further enhance the competitiveness of its products.

Meanwhile Ajman Chamber recorded significant growth in its registered memberships during 2025, reaching 43,486 compared to 40,031 in 2024.

This increase serves as a key indicator of the Chamber’s effective efforts and evolving services in bolstering corporate competitiveness and expanding the economic activity base, further cementing Ajman’s status as a vital hub for business and investment in line with sustainable economic development targets.

The number of industrial establishments in Ajman rose to 1,688 factories in 2025, up from 1,549 in 2024, marking a growth rate of more than 8 per cent. The figures highlight the expansion of the industrial sector and the emirate’s increasing appeal for industrial investment.

Professional memberships led the figures for both new and renewed registrations, reaching 21,831 compared to 19,673 in 2024. Commercial memberships also rose to 19,825 during the past year, up from 18,626, while Bidayat and media licenses accounted for 142 memberships.

The growth in private sector memberships underscores Ajman Chamber’s alignment with the strategic directions of Ajman Vision 2030 by fostering a competitive business environment and an investment climate that drives economic growth.

Furthermore, this membership surge illustrates the broadening scope of private sector enterprises, the stimulation of economic activities, and the enhanced contribution of companies to the local GDP. These factors collectively support economic transformation pathways and reinforce Ajman’s position as an attractive regional and international business destination.

Ajman Chamber continues to diversify its services to support the sustainability of private sector enterprises by facilitating business operations, streamlining export procedures, organising specialised economic forums, and participating in major exhibitions. It also prioritises direct engagement with members to ensure its services remain responsive to the needs of the business community and supportive of overall competitiveness.

Meanwhile the membership of the Ajman Chamber witnessed a 12 per cent growth during the third quarter (Q3) of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.

The total number of memberships rose to 11,596 from 10,388. Furthermore, the new memberships registered during Q3 of the current year totaled 2,043, achieving a growth rate of 17%.

Professional memberships led the total with 5,856 members, followed by commercial memberships with 5,301. The number of industrial establishment memberships during Q3 of the current year reached 421, including 53 new industrial establishments.

The Ajman Chamber endeavors to foster an attractive and stimulating business environment that promotes the growth and sustainability of its private sector members, in alignment with the Ajman Vision 2030. This is achieved by enhancing the business climate, reinforcing investment promotion and attraction programmes, and improving trade networks and logistics services to support commercial growth and boost entrepreneurship.
