The Abu Dhabi Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) announced that it would permanently stop collecting fees in cash, starting April 1, 2026 (Wednesday), and would transition to a completely cashless payment system in all its customer service centres and treasury sections.
All fees would be paid through approved electronic platforms such as ‘Tamm,’ ‘DARI’ and ‘Smarthub’ or via credit cards at service centres, it added, noting that this step represented an important stage towards achieving a fully digital payment system in all entities affiliated with the DMT.

All service fees must be paid through the Tamm, DARI and Smarthub platforms or via credit cards at customer service centres, it said.
Only in exceptional cases can payment be made via direct bank deposit or via digital payment links sent to the phone, it added, noting that this transition would support DMT’s goal of providing a seamless, efficient and fully digital service experience for all residents.
