Iran’s aggression against Gulf states, Jordan is an attac…

UAE Minister of State Lana Nusseibeh has highlighted the significant repercussions of Iranian actions on the global economy.

She emphasised that attacks by Iran on Gulf states and Jordan are effectively assaults on the international community as a whole. Nusseibeh also underlined Iran’s apparent attempts to provoke a major crisis in the global economic landscape.

What unfolds in the Gulf inevitably impacts far beyond its borders.

In a conversation with Fox News, Nusseibeh emphasised that events in the Gulf have global ramifications.

She highlighted that Iran’s aggression toward US allies in the Gulf and Jordan constitutes a direct assault on the international community and the global economy.

This includes actions such as their blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for global trade.

She highlighted that jeopardising energy and supply routes, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz, could trigger significant economic consequences, impacting global markets as well as food and energy costs.

“Iran is effectively trying to create a severe crisis in the global economy,” she said.

Nusseibeh emphasised that the Strait of Hormuz serves as a critical passageway, with roughly one-fifth of the world’s oil and gas supplies moving through it. Additionally, approximately 30 percent of fertilizers essential for food and crop production are transported via this route.

She highlighted that the majority of goods tied to global supply chains originating from the Gulf also rely on this strait. As a result, Iran’s actions appear to be aimed at triggering a significant disruption within the global economy.

The Emirati minister further stressed that Iran, recognized as a state sponsor of terrorism, must not be allowed to exert control over global food and energy prices.
