Egyptian Foreign Minister, UN Official discuss Sudanese crisis, supporting de-escalation

Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty received on Monday United Nations (UN) Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy for Sudan, Pekka Haavisto.

Talks addressed the Sudanese crisis’ latest developments, in addition to ongoing regional and international efforts to halt the escalation and restore calm, according to a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry.

It added that both sides stressed the importance of respecting Sudan’s sovereignty and supporting efforts aimed at de-escalation and reaching a comprehensive political settlement, as well as ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid and alleviating the suffering of the Sudanese people.
