A painting featuring President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during a falconry trip captivated visitors at the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition 2026. This artwork blended the original photograph with realistic details, incorporating a stuffed bird into the piece.
Mohsen Saeed, the owner of the “Gir” shop, explained to Al Khaleej newspaper that the inspiration for the painting came after seeing a photograph of Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed on a falconry trip. Motivated by this image, he sought to create art that faithfully represented the photograph while preserving its intricate details. From the start, he aimed for the painting to closely match the inspiring photograph.
Focus on the Bird
He explained that the project concentrated specifically on the bird, aiming to closely match the bird in the photograph in terms of size, color, aesthetics, and detail. There was also careful attention to other elements in the photograph, such as the propeller and the transmitter, with a focus on replicating their shapes and details.
He mentioned that after preparing all the components of the work, the bird was embalmed at a giraffe facility and then integrated with the photograph within the artwork. This process aimed to achieve the form he had envisioned from the outset, thus merging the elements of the photograph into a cohesive piece.
He noted that the response to the artwork surpassed his expectations, receiving admiration from exhibition visitors. It also gained significant attention on social media platforms, and among those who interacted with it was Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior.
He expressed that this interaction is a source of pride and motivation to continue presenting new and distinctive ideas in the future and to strive to develop works that blend meticulous attention to detail with innovative concepts.
