The Dubai International Holy Quran Award has announced the selection of 424 exceptional Quranic talents from 46 different nationalities for the second stage of its 29th edition, scheduled for September 1st to 14th, 2027.
This edition has seen unprecedented global engagement, with a total of 20,535 participants from 135 nationalities worldwide. Such participation highlights the award’s international prestige and its capacity to draw outstanding Quranic talents. For the second stage, the number of qualifiers in the male category (over 16 years old) reached 321, while in the under-16 category, there are 103 qualifiers, including 53 males and 50 females.
Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai and Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Dubai International Holy Quran Award, expressed that the qualification of 424 outstanding Quranic talents highlights the intense level of competition encouraged by the award. He remarked that the initial rounds of qualification demonstrated remarkable vocal beauty, exceptional performance, and mastery in recitation and Tajweed.
He further stated that with each edition, the award raises its standards, providing an ideal platform to showcase Quranic talents from across the globe. This underscores Dubai’s leading role in promoting the Holy Quran. Emphasizing their dedication to applying the highest standards of evaluation and fairness, he highlighted the importance of ensuring that the finest talents, most melodious voices, and expert reciters progress to the final rounds. He extended his best wishes to all participants advancing to this crucial stage in the 29th edition of the competition.
He also indicated that the finalists come from 46 different nationalities worldwide, highlighting the award’s noble mission to promote values such as moderation, tolerance, and the principles of our true religion. He is confident that this exceptional group of finalists will inspire the younger generation to love the Book of God and excel in its recitation, thereby strengthening Dubai’s status as a global hub for recognizing and honoring Quranic talents. All finalists will go through thorough tests and evaluations during September 1-14 to choose the best participants for the next phase of the competition, according to the award’s criteria.
